An Overview of the British Embassy in Kuwait

The British Embassy in Kuwait is located in Dasman, on the Arabian Gulf Road, near the Kuwait Towers. The Embassy compound accommodates the Political, Press, Trade, Consular and Visa Sections. The Ambassador's Residence is also a part of the compound.

The Embassy's normal working hours are 07:30 - 14:30 Sunday till Thursday, except for public holidays.

Embassy Sections

The British Embassy in Kuwait is divided into a number of different teams:

The Political Section is responsible for liaising between the British government and the Kuwaiti government. This includes cooperation on good governance, democracy, and contact on a wide range of foreign policy issues. See Working with Kuwait for more information.

The UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) team represents UK interests in Kuwait on all aspects of trade and trade policy. For further information please visit Doing Business.

The Consular Section provides services to British citizens, including lost passports, registration of UK nationals and cases of distress. For further details of consular and passport issues, please see Help for British Nationals.

The Visa Section of the Embassy regulates migration to, and settlement in the UK from Kuwait on behalf of the UK Border Agency. Please also see the Visa Application Website for more information.

The Press and Public Affairs Section is responsible for all dealings with the local and international media, and for the disseminating of information to key contacts. Please visit the Newsroom for further information.

The Defence Section is responsible for liaising with Kuwaiti defence organisations to take forward issues such as defence cooperation, and training initiatives.

The Management Section is responsible for the running of the Embassy, including human resources, accounts, procurement, IT, security, and the maintenance of the Embassy's estate.
