Kuwait has a vibrant British Business Forum with professional members working across many business sectors.  Increasingly the Forum under its banner 'British Business First' is recognised as an important component of support in developing better business relations and the building of networks and alliances.

The BBF is a not for profit organisation of business people working in Kuwait that has a growing corporate and individual membership.  We are proud to be closely linked with UKTI and operate under the aegis of the British Ambassador to Kuwait.

Our expertise lies in our membership, the professionals working in the main business sectors: education and training, oil and gas, construction, health, defence, security and financial services.  The BBF membership is also present in retail, fashion, real estate, aviation, travel and hospitality sectors.  We seek to make a discernible difference to those seeking business opportunities through our network of contacts of people actually working and with experience of living in Kuwait.

So why Kuwait?  The opinion of our members, some who have worked in Kuwait pre and post Iraq invasion 20 years ago, is the emirate has much for what it can be proud for.  Much of what has been achieved has been possible with British professionals involved.  Expatriates make up the majority of the private sector labour force 84% while approximately 90% of Kuwaiti nationals are employed by the Government.  We believe UK companies are well placed to secure a sizeable element of development opportunities that are scheduled for action in Kuwait over the next few years.  The plan focuses on economic activity outside of the oil and finance sectors targeting many crucial infrastructure projects.

The bilateral trading relationship with UK is very healthy and still growing.  British companies are highly regarded for their consultancy, skills, technology, training and work ethics.  UK products and services are held in very high regard by Kuwaitis and there is a strong long term relationship with the British. Under 6 hours, British Airways offer direct flights to/from London.

So next time you plan to visit Kuwait, please make contact with our Forum.  We encourage dialogue and can offer a range of meetings, events and activities that may be of interest to you.
